Revelation 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet
In the Spirit on the Lord’s Day
Is the best way I can describe
The Sunday we buried my grandfather
A pillar and strength in the church though his body disguised
He was weak but worshipped like Jacob on his staff
If he could have been there
He would have been so proud
To see the church, like a burning bush on fire
From the moment we arrived
The church was ready to honor
Jesus Christ, God’s Son
Clay’s only true Potter
As the piano set the pace
Our voices blended in exaltation
Preaching was powerful about being fishers of men
Directing all to the Desire of All Nations
With a God-centered day at hand
The Presence of the Almighty would bless
Seeing one join the church of the Living God
Another new-born babe did confess
The blessings were not over
We had just gotten a taste
Of sitting in Heavenly places
Through God’s Amazing Grace
To the funeral home we had to go
Knowing the death of a saint is precious in Your sight
The people gathered
Through the preaching, the fish began to fight
God was calling some to repentance
Others to a closer walk with Thee
Some to be comforted from grief
All of come follow Me
After the message was over
Everyone took their last glance
Saddened, crying and weeping
While they closed the casket
The processional led us
To the grave sight at New Liberty
Where the day had begun
In blessed unity
The Spirit carried us
All the daylong
As God’s glory was revealed
And our hearts were full of song
We dispersed for a little while
After grandaddy’s body was laid to rest
For revival meetings were starting
We hadn’t seen the best
A few minutes before service started
On holy ground the men did pray
The Spirit’s love filled our hearts
Preparing the way
Like the olden days
People were sitting side by side
In the house of the righteous
No sinner could hide
Expounding from the Word of God
The preacher did his best
The Holy Spirit was there
Knocking on many chests
When the invitation was given
The saints began to move
A little lost girl came to the altar
God did prove
The weight of sin is devastating
Leaving a heart wrestling over the Great Divide
Condemned and alone, she went down
But was raised to say, I’m alive
Born of the Spirit of God above
A smile radiated from her soul
Knowing God’s forgiveness was real
Her heart was washed white as snow
It will be a day
I’ll never forget
When one was buried, one born, one confessed and one joined
At New Liberty Church in heavenly places we did sit
