God’s Desire: Man’s Heart

(8-27-03 11:14PM Dallas, TX Pondering: What does God really want?)

What does God desire?
It is ever so simple
He just wants to be
The center of your walking temple

A place of purity
Contentment
If you let Him in,
There’ll never be resentment

He built this place
Just to fill it with His love and grace
It’s a place of holiness
Not worldly loneliness

For the location is deep
Within the soul of man
He wants to permeate it with the Gospel of Peace
Whenever He can

He longs to abide in you
And hates when carnality fills, subdues
He wants to speak calmness to the waters of your soul
Sanctifying without, within make completely whole

This is the heart
He wants to touch
For out of it flows
The issues of life, much

For Him to be effective
You must cry out—call
Without a doubt He wants to send peace
Like crystal waterfalls

Your heart can come as it is—
Black
Stripped
Don’t find back
Listen to the still small voice
In His Life-Giving Blood
Dipped
Your heart screams,
“Rejoice”

It’s clean, pulsating
You’ll stand contemplating
What has happened within?
For Heaven did send

A perfect gift of love
Descended like a spotless dove
Shed abroad
Consuming the heart
A new start
Born Again
Forgotten are you’re old sins
In the depths of the ocean

Beware!
Satan will try to use these, create commotion
He has now lost your soul to Life
But wants to destroy
Your witness with strife

Just as the money-changers were casted
So must evil thoughts be arrested
Before entering love’s center—
Your prison
Keep all of the doors opened
Allowing emotion to escape
By storing up bad feelings towards others
Bitterness
Envy
Lust
Satan clouds your soul, rapes

Stand guard
Watching in hand the sword—
Trusting only in God’s sustaining grace
For the bruising of Satan’s head—
The Eternal Sore
Now, in love with God
You must explore

Offering your temple—
A living sacrifice
On the alter of eternity
Will be enough to suffice
Provided will be the Refiner’s consuming fire
For this is God’s desire
